LESCO
As the global power sector shifted from monopoly to privatization, the Government of Pakistan approved a Strategic Plan in 1994, unbundling WAPDA's power wing into 12 companies for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. Lahore Area Electricity Board was reorganized as Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) on 22-03-1998, aimed at commercialization and eventual privatization.

Area of Operation
LESCO's area of responsibility covers the civil districts of Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Sheikhupura.
